FAMILY DISPLACED AFTER FIRE DESTROYS HOME IN HARRIMAN

A family was displaced after a fire caused substantial damage to the home they were renting in Harriman late last week. Firefighters responded around 3 a.m. last Friday to see flames coming from the structure on the 300 block of Vernal Drive. Officials say Tommy and Marilyn Nelson and their three children escaped the residence and no injuries were reported. A cause of the blaze is under investigation and is believed to have started in the kitchen area of the dwelling. The family lost everything in the fire.

The Nelsons have a 4 year old daughter, 2 year old son, another 2 year old son, and an 8 month old daughter. Another is on the way.

woman – stretch pants size XL, XL shirts and size 6 or 7 shoes

girl – 6X/XS and shoe size 11, underwear also needed

boys – 24 months or 2T 18 months pants/shirts

Infant girl – 12 months clothing, size 2 shoes and size 4 diapers, walker and a crib
