FATAL CAR CRASH CLAIMS LIFE IN ROANE COUNTY

A tragic two-car collision in Roane County early Thursday morning has claimed the life of a young man. The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near Mount Pisgah Baptist Church on Highway 61 (Harriman Highway) in the 4400 block.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), a 2017 Kia Soul, driven by 24-year-old Austin Quick, and a 2018 Nissan Frontier, driven by 41-year-old Patrick Holt, collided head-on. The report states that Quick’s vehicle was traveling southbound when it crossed the double yellow line, striking Holt’s northbound vehicle.

Sadly, Austin Quick died as a result of the crash. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles, and no other cars were involved.

The THP report did not provide details on the drivers’ specific addresses, due to recent changes in the Tennessee State Code, which now limits the release of certain information in traffic reports.
