Anderson County, TN – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Sunday evening, February 2, on Brushy Valley Road near Pumpkin Hollow Road, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).

The crash happened at approximately 5:57 p.m. when a 2014 Ford Escape, driven by Salvatore Varsalona, crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2014 Ford F-250. Varsalona, a local attorney, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ford F-250, identified as Jason McNair, was not injured in the crash.

No charges have been filed at this time, pending the outcome of the investigation.

According to the THP report, both vehicles came to an uncontrolled rest in the middle of Brushy Valley Road after the impact. Authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
