On Saturday around 4 PM, Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a fatal motorcycle crash in Roane County.
John Day, 75, from Kingston, died after his motorcycle crashed into a jeep near Renfro’s gas station on River Road.  THP said the Jeep was driving northbound and the motorcycle was heading southbound. As the Jeep attempted to make a left turn into the gas station’s parking lot, the motorcycle crashed into the right side of the Jeep and came to an uncontrolled stop, blocking both lanes of traffic.

According to officials, Day was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the jeep was not injured.
