Local authorities are investigating a deadly two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 95-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers with the Cleveland Police Department responded to the intersection of Stuart Road and Hardwick Farms Parkway at approximately 1:42 p.m. following reports of a crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Nissan Maxima and a Honda Accord had collided.

According to preliminary investigation findings, the Nissan Maxima was traveling westbound on Stuart Road as the Honda Accord was heading eastbound. The crash occurred when the Honda attempted to make a left turn onto Hardwick Farms Parkway and pulled directly into the path of the oncoming Nissan.

The driver of the Honda, identified as 95-year-old James Cable, was found unconscious at the scene. He was rushed to Bradley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Nissan, 20-year-old Cynthia Toombs, reported no injuries.

The Cleveland Police Department’s Crash Response Team is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
