A vehicle accident at the 314 mile marker of I-40 in Cumberland County yesterday resulted in a fatality. Troopers say a 2004 Cadillac CTS driven by 34-year-old Jamie Smith from Waldo, Arkansas merged into the left lane and hit a 2019 Honda Pilot operated by 61-year-old Deborah Bryant from Cunningham, Tennessee (10 miles south of Clarksville). The impact caused the Honda to hit a bridge. Bryant was killed and a passenger in her car, 63-year-old Jeffery Bryant, was injured. Charges are pending against Smith who was not hurt.
