A driver lost his life in a single-vehicle accident in Putnam County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2005 Chevrolet driven by 71-year-old Billy South was traveling east today in a curve on the 18,000 block of Clarkrange Highway.

South crossed the center line and ran off the road.

The vehicle rolled an unknown number of times and came to rest down an embankment.

South passed away from injuries sustained in the crash.
