A single vehicle accident in Loudon County late last night claimed the life of the motorist. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2002 Toyota Tundra operated by 59-year-old Richard Powell II of Loudon was traveling south on Lakeland Drive and ran off the right side of the road. The automobile hit a wooden post, went down an embankment and collided head-on with a tree. Powell, who reportedly was not restrained, passed away from injuries sustained.
