FATHER, SON ARRESTED BY ROANE COUNTY DEPUTIES

Shortly after 6 Sunday morning, Roane County deputies were dispatched to an address on Dickey Valley Road in Harriman because 51-year-old James Lee Pelham, Sr., had showed up while there was an active order of protection against him. Pelham had been ordered to stay away from the petitioner, her home and her place of business.

Deputies met up with Pelham and his son, 25-year-old James Lee Pelham, Jr., sitting in a truck in the driveway, near the front entry of the home.

Pelham, Sr. claimed he was only there because he was with his son; he stated further the petitioner wasn’t even at the house.

Deputies made contact with the petitioner at the back door of the home, who said she was not injured, but she’d just seen him in the driveway outside her home.

Pelham, Sr. was charged with violation of an order of protection for knowingly violating the conditions of an active order of protection.

Pelham, Jr. was taken into custody on multiple outstanding warrants: violation of the vehicle registration law; violation of financial responsibility laws; driving on a revoked or suspended license; felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle, thereby creating a risk to bystander; reckless driving; an attachment for contempt/non-support; and failure to appear.

Both were taken to the Roane County jail.
