MULTIPLE WRECKS IN ROANE COUNTY KEEP FIRST RESPONDERS BUSY

A single-vehicle crash on Sugar Grove Valley Road late Friday left some residents near Dickey Valley Road without power. The car left the road and struck a power pole, causing the lines to fall on and around the car. Hub crews had to come out and cut power before the driver could get out. The unidentified driver was checked out by EMS and refused a trip to the hospital, saying he was okay.

Another single-vehicle weekend wreck, this one a rollover crash on Highway 70 on Rockwood Mountain at Fire Tower Road Sunday evening, tied up traffic for a time. Sources say the car flipped and the unidentified male driver was not seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle. Tennessee Highway Patrol, which responded to both crashes, says information about the two wrecks will not be available until sometime Tuesday.

Around 8 this morning, Harriman police and fire personnel were called to a two-vehicle collision in front of Weigels on Highway 70. One unidentified occupant had to be extricated by Harriman Fire first responders and was taken to the hospital.
