FBI LOOKING FOR MULTI-ROBBERY SUSPECT

The FBI is looking for a suspect in a series of bank robberies which took place in middle and east Tennessee over the past 8 years. Named the “Too Tall Bandit”, the male suspect has robbed 9 banks in White House, Gallatin, Farragut, Franklin, Jefferson City, Pigeon Forge and Knoxville. The most recent heists have occurred in Jefferson City and Knoxville, with both taking place on Nov. 24. The FBI says that the man usually walks into a bank wearing dark clothing and a Halloween mask, goes behind the counter and threatens employees with a handgun as he gets them to help put money into a bag or backpack. He is then observed exiting through the back of the bank. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, standing between 6 feet and 3 inches tall to 6 feet and 6 inches tall. He’s believed to have brown eyes and weigh anywhere from 210 to 250 pounds. The FBI says he speaks in a deep voice that has a non-southern accent. He also walks with a limp or an unusual gait that affects his right leg. Anyone with information regarding these crimes should call the FBI Knoxville Field Office at 865-544-0751 or submit a tip online at https://tips.fbi.gov.
