FEDERAL FUGITIVE JESSE DUNCAN APPREHENDED

Federal fugitive 38-year-old Jesse Duncan of Harriman was apprehended last night in Anderson County after walking away from a halfway house in Knoxville. He was initially stopped Saturday in the Norwood community of Oliver Springs. Duncan fled the scene on foot and a chase ensued which led to Deputy Stephen Carroll being hit by a car on Tri-County Boulevard receiving a concussion, a laceration to the head and a broken leg. He is now home and recovering.

Authorities say Duncan has an extensive criminal record in Roane County including multiple thefts from October 2015 to February 2016. He was indicted on several counts of theft up to $60,000 as well as firearm charges.
