FEDERAL TRIAL DATE DELAYED FOR FORMER ROANE CO. ATTORNEY CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES

A federal trial date for a disbarred Roane County attorney has been delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak. Court officials say Kent Booher faces sex trafficking of a minor, attempted production of child pornography and enticement. Booher was originally indicted by a federal grand jury back in September for enticement and a sexual offense against a minor while on a sex offender registry. A new trial date will be announced at a later time. The Tennessee Supreme Court disbarred Booher after he pleaded guilty on two counts of statutory rape in Loudon County in 2014. Booher also faces state charges of violating the sex offender registry and solicitation of a minor.
