The Fentress County Sheriff’s Office recently announced that Correctional Officer Huddleston and Officer York have earned their certifications as Defense Technology Training Instructors.

This new credential empowers both officers to train and certify fellow staff members in the safe and proper use of less-lethal devices.

According to the department, having in-house certified instructors is a major asset that will enhance jail safety. The specialized training ensures correctional personnel remain fully prepared to de-escalate and handle challenging situations, ultimately protecting both staff and inmates.
