FENTRESS COUNTY MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES INCLUDING METH
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office responded to a local residence following reports of drug activity. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a marijuana plant in the bed of a pickup truck in the front yard. The resident (who was unnamed in the report provided by the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office) admitted ownership and cultivation of the plant, and he subsequently directed officers to three additional marijuana plants growing on the property.
A broader search of the premises uncovered approximately two grams of suspected methamphetamine, an ounce of suspected marijuana, various smoking pipes, multiple digital scales, used hypodermic needles, containers of marijuana seeds, and evidence of a previous indoor marijuana grow operation.
Law enforcement also recovered a Walther .22 caliber pistol with a loaded magazine and holster, alongside .22 caliber ammunition. Following the suspect’s arrest, a search of his person revealed rolling papers, a small amount of marijuana, and a pill container holding three Diazepam tablets and four Clonazepam tablets.
The operation was conducted with assistance from the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC), Sgt. Murphy, Deputy Cooper, Deputy McClenney, and Detective Lewallen. As a result of the investigation, the defendant faces multiple charges, including Cultivation of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine), Schedule IV (Diazepam and Clonazepam), and Schedule VI (Marijuana) Controlled Substances. The investigation remains ongoing, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
