FIRE AT BROWN CREEK HELD OFF BY HOMEOWNER’S SON UNTIL CC FIRE ARRIVED

The Cumberland County Fire Department responded to a structure fire taking place at Brown Creek Drive last night at around 6:50 p.m.
By the time Fire Fighters arrived, the fire had been successfully held at bay by the homeowner’s son, who was handling the fire with the home’s water hose. Thanks to his efforts, damage to the home was minimal.
What damage had been done, however, resulted in the home’s bathroom ceiling being taken out and electric wires being burned. The home’s electric meter was temporarily pulled as a result.
All in all, the fire was handled in about 30 minutes, with only 50-70 gallons of water used.
The Cumberland County Fire Department said the homeowner’s son did a good job and they were proud of him.
