FIRE GUTS EMPTY BUSINESS BUILDING IN CROSSVILLE

Crossville firefighters responded just after 6 a.m. this morning to an empty business building next to Big John’s BBQ on Highway 70 east for a structure fire. Crossville Fire Deputy Chief Chris South told 105.7 News they arrived to see flames coming from the roof. Crews put out the blaze and remained on the scene for nearly 3 hours. The part of Highway 70 East in front of the building was closed for about 90 minutes as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Officials say the inside of the structure sustained major damage. The building was up for sale. A cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
