FIRE TRUCK HIT WHILE RESPONDING TO CRASH SCENE
Putnam County Fire Department vehicle was hit while working a crash on Interstate 40 Saturday night. Authorities said it was hit by a car that didn’t slow down and move over.
The fire department responded to a crash near the 296-mile marker on I-40 West around 8 p.m. While working the accident, a vehicle failed to slow down and move over, striking two vehicles before hitting the fire equipment on the scene, authorities said.
No one was in the fire vehicle when it was struck but it sustained minor damage to the tailboard area.
