FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FOR MULTIPLE EAST TENNESSEE COUNTIES

A Flood Watch has been issued from 3:43 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 for the following counties in Tennessee: Blount, Morgan, Rhea, Meigs, Monroe, Roane, Loudon, Bledsoe, Anderson, and McMinn.
Flash flooding is possible due to excessive rainfall. Heavy rain could produce excessive runoff, leading to flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying or flood-prone areas. Urban locations and areas with poor drainage may also experience flooding.
Slow-moving or repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms—capable of producing heavy rain efficiently—could increase the risk of flash flooding in these areas. Residents should remain alert for rapidly changing conditions and be prepared to take action if flooding develops.
