FORMER CUMBERLAND CO. COMMISSIONER HARRY SABINE PASSES AWAY

Former Cumberland County Commissioner Harry Sabine has passed away after suffering a stroke this week. He was 78-years-old. Sabine graduated in 1958 from Cumberland County High School and was valedictorian. He attended the University of Tennessee and received degrees in business administration and law. Sabine served as a captain in the Marine Corps, including one tour of duty in Vietnam. Sabine was a lawyer in Cumberland County since 1968. He was recently chosen as a 2014 Cumberland County High School Hall of Fame inductee. Along with serving three terms as a county commissioner of the first district, Sabine was instrumental in bringing the U.S. Chess Federation to Crossville. The list of accomplishments Sabine achieved for Cumberland County is very long. Harry was a champion for Cumberland County and he will be missed by many. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
