The body of former Jamestown Mayor Lyndon Baines was found Thursday morning at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Baines was last seen leaving his home on a motorcycle Sunday. Park rangers located the vehicle at a campsite in the park. They attempted to check on Baines’ welfare and found him deceased inside a tent.

Baines was reported missing Tuesday by his wife. Jamestown Police Department officials said that he left his home without proper heart medication.

The incident is under investigation by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
