FORMER OVERTON COUNTY INMATE SUES COUNTY AND OFFICIALS
A former inmate of the Overton County Jail has filed a lawsuit against the county and its officials. The $1.5 million lawsuit was filed April 20 by lawyers representing John Lucas White, who was incarcerated in the jail for 13 days during the spring of 2016. According to court records, White told jail officials he had been addicted to drugs, and was seeing a Nashville doctor. The suit says White did not receive the drugs as he was prescribed, and as a result, he went through withdrawals. White’s condition reportedly deteriorated until EMS was contacted and he was flown to Skyline Medical Center.
