FORMER TDOC EMPLOYEE INDICTED FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES

David Michael Murrow was arrested on Nov. 6 for sex crimes against a child and was arraigned in Cumberland County Criminal Court on Tuesday.

Murrow, a 50-year-old man from Jamestown, was indicted on the following charges: Three counts of child rape, Sexual exploitation of a minor, Aggravated sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Witnesses at the arraignment included Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Anthony Loshbough, Lake Tansi Police Officer Nicholas Race, Crossville PD Lt. Jon Tollett, Deputy Jason Powers, various agents with Crimes Against Children, Internet Crimes Against Children, and the Department of Child Services, and two unidentified witnesses.

Murrow told Judge Wesley Bray that he didn’t have assets that could be used to hire an attorney and that he was unemployed and wouldn’t be able to find employment.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent him.

The case was continued to Dec. 10th.

Murrow was an employee of the Tennessee Department of Corrections, but TDOC spokesperson Dorinda Carter said Murrow is no longer employed with them.
