FOUR INJURED AFTER TRUCK STRIKES AMBULANCE IN FAIRFIELD GLADE
Four individuals sustained injuries after a truck collided with an ambulance in Fairfield Glade this afternoon. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 1993 Chevy S-10 driven by 36-year-old Stephen J. Atilano of Crossville was approaching the intersection of Peavine Road and Westminster Court in a construction zone when he struck a 2015 Chevy 3500 ambulance operated by 52-year-old Bobby F. Bowman of Crossville. Atilano was flown by Lifeforce to a trauma center for treatment. A 12-year-old in his vehicle was hurt and a 14-year-old escaped injury. Once Atilano is released from the hospital, troopers say he will be charged with several offenses including DUI, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and two counts of reckless endangerment. Bowman and a passenger in the ambulance, 51-year-old Vic Randolph, were both taken to the hospital for treatment and later released.
