FREE DINNER SEMINAR ON THE MWAC COPELAND SOLAR FARM SET FOR FEBRUARY 2ND

Cumberland True News reports that Silicon Ranch, one of the country’s largest solar energy producers, is advancing development on the MWAC Copeland Solar Farm in northern Crossville, Tennessee. Initially announced in 2024, the project is set to become the largest solar facility serving a local power company through the TVA program.
The farm, spanning approximately 1,600 acres near Plateau Road and I-40—specifically off Stanley Hood Road and Shuberts Lane, adjacent to Smith Family Farms land—will feature Caney Fork Creek, Copeland Creek, and Hood Lake running through or near the property. Notably, Volunteer Energy Cooperative has no involvement, and the generated power will supply around 750,000 customers across other areas of Middle Tennessee. Construction is slated to begin this year, with operations expected to start in 2027.
To inform the community, Silicon Ranch is hosting a free public educational dinner seminar at Plateau Baptist Church on Monday, February 2nd from 6-8 PM. Updates on the project will continue as developments occur.
