The National Weather Service has issued a FREEZE WARNING for:

CUMBERLAND, PICKETT, PUTNAM, OVERTON, FENTRESS and WHITE COUNTY

The warning is from 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. tomorrow morning (Saturday, May 9, 2020). Another frost or freeze watch is likely Saturday night into Sunday morning. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

A FROST ADVISORY is also in effect from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2020 until 10 a.m. eastern Saturday, May 9, 2020 for the following counties:

ROANE, MEIGS, LOUDON, KNOX, RHEA, ANDERSON, BLOUNT, and MCMINN
