FREEZING FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR CUMBERLAND PLATEAU

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing fog advisory for the Cumberland Plateau, including Cumberland, Fentress, Pickett, Overton, Bledsoe, White, and Van Buren counties. The advisory is set to expire at 8 a.m. this morning (Thursday, November 23, 2023).

Visibilities of less than one mile can be expected.

As of 5:15 a.m. this morning, visibility in places in Cumberland County was about 20 yards at best.

Many spots in this advisory will drop below freezing before sunrise. Combined with dense fog, bridges and overpasses could become slick. If traveling, please be sure to use extreme caution first thing this morning.

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead. Also, be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.
