FREIGHTLINER COLLIDES WITH GUARD RAIL AND BURNS AT I-40/I-75 SPLIT

Loudon County deputies, medics, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded yesterday to a vehicle crash at the I-40 / I-75 spilt.
The report states a 2016 Kenworth dump truck operated by 48-year-old Eddie Joe Taylor Jr. of Tennessee and a 2023 Freightliner driven by 64-year-old Armando Ramirez Flores of California were traveling eastbound on I-40 at the 368-mile marker.
Troopers say the Kenworth crossed into the right lane and hit the Freightliner.
The Freightliner left the road and collided with a guard rail. It stopped directly underneath two ramps from I-40 westbound to I-75 southbound and I-75 north to I-40 west. The Freightliner caught on fire from the impact and burned.
