FUGITIVE ARRESTED HAS PAST SIMILAR DOMESTIC INCIDENT

The search for a dangerous fugitive in Cumberland County came to a conclusion today with his arrest. Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department located and apprehended 39-year-old William Shone Moore at a residence on Will Wyatt Road. Moore was transported to the Cumberland County jail and placed under a $50,000 bond for aggravated domestic assault. The charge stems from an incident Wednesday (November 15, 2017) where Moore allegedly attacked and tried to strangle a woman off of Runnymeade Road. Moore fled the scene and was believed to be in possession of a Smith and Wesson 9mm firearm. Yesterday around 1 p.m., Crossville police were informed that Moore may have been in the area of Webb Avenue and Genesis Road. A city search ensued resulting in schools being placed on a soft lockdown. This is not Moore’s first run in with the law regarding domestic violence. In documents obtained by 105.7 News this morning, Moore was arrested in February of this year in Cumberland County on a fugitive from justice warrant out of Clay County, Florida for felony domestic battery by strangulation. Moore was allowed to plead no contest to a lower charge of battery and served 34 days in a Clay County, Florida jail and was released in June of this year. Moore was also involved in a vehicle accident in April 2014 in Cumberland County where officers learned he was wanted out of Chester County, South Carolina on unspecified charges.
