Funeral services for a former Cumberland County sheriff will be this afternoon (Monday, September 9. 2019). Leon Tollett passed away last Friday at the age of 84. He was a United States Army veteran. After his military service, he spent 6 years on the Crossville Police Department serving as Assistant Chief and later spent 28 years with Tennessee Highway Patrol where he retired as Lieutenant. Leon then served as sheriff of Cumberland County for a four year term. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. this afternoon at First Baptist Church in Crossville. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Crossville.
