FUNERAL SET FOR MEIGS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY
Funeral arrangements are set for a Meigs County Sheriff’s Department deputy who passed away from medical complications Saturday. Deputy Michael Green, age 31, was diagnosed with swine flu, pneumonia, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and was being treated at Erlanger Medical Center
Survivors include his parents: Michael and Becky Green of Decatur; mother of his children: Carolyn Green of Decatur; daughters: Layla and Kynslie Green of Decatur; sister: Nicole Green of Decatur; grandparents: Floyd and Dorothy Green of Decatur; special niece: Keylee Green, and aunts, uncles, and other extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 p.m. eastern Monday, February 17, 2020 at Bowers Funeral Home in Decatur.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with interment to follow the service. Employees of Meigs County Sheriff’s Department will serve as pallbearers.
The Meigs County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement regarding the passing of Deputy Green:
“It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Deputy Micheal Green. Michael proudly served Meigs County and did so with a smile on his face. Michael made a postive impact on everyone he came in contact with and will be greatly missed. During this time we ask for prayers for the Green family, friends, and the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department as we grieve the loss of our brother in blue.”
