FURTHER DETAILS RELEASED ON CROSSVILLE MANUFACTURING PLANT LOCK DOWN
Additional details have been released concerning the lockdown of a Crossville manufacturing plant earlier this week. Police and Cumberland County Deputies were called to Clayton Windows on Genesis Rd. Tuesday for the report of a possible social media threat. According to the report a new employee, identified as 21-year-old Tyler Lee Ford, left the job early Monday. Tuesday, police were notified of several racial slurs and threats that Ford allegedly made on Facebook that could have been against an employee or employees working on second shift at the plant. Due to the potential threats and because of a series of texts that Ford’s mother revealed to officers, the building was locked down and a perimeter established around the area. Deputies were able to locate Ford at a residence on Chestnut Hill Rd. where he was then placed on investigative hold. It was later discovered through interviews that two of the people who were believed to have been targeted by Ford, did not even know him. The case is still under investigation.
