GAS PRICES RISING AGAIN ACROSS TENNESSEE

Gas prices are rising rapidly in Tennessee according to auto club group AAA.  AAA reports over the last week, gas prices in the Volunteer State have jumped by 21 cents, bringing the average cost per gallon to $3.38.  The average is 29 cents more than a month ago but 41 cents lower than this time last year.

AAA reports the reason for the jump is a recent surge in the price of crude oil and record-heat which has reduced the output of fuel from refineries.

The most expensive markets for gas in the state are Nashville ($3.44), Memphis ($3.44), and Cleveland ($3.43). The cheapest can be found in Morristown ($3.26), Kingsport ($3.29), Knoxville ($3.31).
