General Motors has recalled more than 300,000 trucks.

They said there are concerns about the tailgate latches on certain 2022-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, and 3500 vehicles equipped with power-unlatching tailgates.

General Motors officials said in their recall that the electronic tailgate release switches may short circuit if it gets wet.

This could cause the tailgate to come open unexpectedly and release unsecured cargo onto the road.

Owner notification letters are anticipated to be mailed on March 18, 2024.
