George William Haney, age 82, was born on July 31, 1940, to the late Carlos and Ocia (Ingram) Haney in Crab Orchard, TN, and passed away on October 1, 2022, in Cookeville, TN.

He was a reserve deputy sheriff for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. He also worked for Tennessee Building Stone for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Haney; son William “Cotton” Haney; grandchildren Stephanie (Matt) Speich, Jeremy (Heaven) Haney, Brandon Haney, Josh Haney, and Johnathon (Brittney) Haney; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters Erma Faye Elmore and Willie Mae Davis.

George was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Haney and son Jerry Haney.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Crab Orchard Church of God from 12 to 2 pm with a funeral service to follow and Thomas Brady officiating. He will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery.
