A man was hit by a vehicle yesterday after attempting to cross Alcoa Highway.

Alcoa police say 33-year-old Eric Carter of Locust, Georgia tried to cross over the road from a gas station to go eat breakfast when he was hit.

Carter was thrown several feet from the impact. He was taken to the hospital where he is expected to recover. Police say the driver will not face any charges. Police say speed was not a factor in the accident.
