GEORGIA TRUCK DRIVER OVERTURNS TRACTOR TRAILER OVERCORRECTING ON INTERSTATE 40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
A Georgia man escaped injury Monday morning after his semi-truck overturned and blocked all eastbound lanes of Interstate 40.
According to a preliminary report released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the incident occurred yesterday on October 5, 2026, at approximately 10:16 AM near mile marker 305.
Investigators stated that 49-year-old Rashad Hodges of Georgia was driving a 2025 Volvo tractor eastbound when the vehicle drifted off the right shoulder. Hodges overcorrected, causing the semi to topple onto its right side. The sliding vehicle came to a rest across the roadway, temporarily halting all eastbound traffic.
Authorities confirmed that Hodges was wearing a seat belt and reported no injuries. He is currently facing a charge for failure to exercise due care, pending the final outcome of the investigation.
