Hands of Mercy and the Kingston Police Department packed around 750 bags of food items yesterday for families in need. This project has been going on for ten years now. It started with feeding just over 100 families and has grown in size yearly. The food packed will go to a families that take part in the backpack buddies program in Roane County schools or a client of Hands of Mercy. The bags of food will be distributed mainly today with the rest the day before Thanksgiving.
