HARRIMAN CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON MAJOR DOWNTOWN ZONING CHANGE
The City of Harriman, Tennessee, has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, starting at 5:45 PM in the Council Room at City Hall, located at 408 N. Roane Street, Harriman, TN 37748. The hearing concerns Ordinance No. 0226-02, which seeks to amend the city’s zoning map under authority granted by Tennessee Code Annotated Section 13-7-201 et seq.
Specifically, the proposal would rezone several parcels identified by the Roane County Property Assessor—Map 026K, Group B, Parcels 011.00, 013.00, 014.00, 014.01, 015.00, 015.01, 015.02, and 016.00—from C-2 (General Commercial) to C-1 (Central Business District).
The stated goal of this rezoning is to establish a contiguous connection to the existing C-1 zoning area. Members of the public are invited to attend, review the relevant zoning resolution text and maps, and obtain copies at City Hall during regular business hours.
