HARRIMAN OFFICERS SAVE WOMAN FROM HOUSE FIRE
A woman is safe today after a quick response by Harriman police officers to a house fire. The woman was allegedly sleeping when the building caught fire. According to Harriman City Manager Scott Mason, Officers Worthy and Holbrook were the first officers on the scene at the fire on Unaka Street.
Officer Holbrook rushed in and carried the woman to safety outside while Officer Worthy used a fire extinguisher to help douse the flames until the fire department arrived on the scene within minutes. An animal inside was also saved.
The fire department got there quickly and extinguished the fire before much major damage could be done to the structure. Rockwood and Kingston Fire Departments per Mutual Aid were sent there as well to assist Harriman Fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
