HARRISON AND SHANKS SAY FAREWELL AT FINAL COUNCIL MEETING
Crossville City Council members Scot Shanks and Rob Harrison were given fond farewells yesterday at their final council meeting last night with a farewell speech given to the two by Mayor R.J. Crawford.
“As Mayor for the last two years, and serving on the council, I’ve had the opportunity to work with you all for the last four years,” said Crawford. “It’s been a pleasure. I know I speak for everybody here and not here that though you and I weren’t always on the same side of a vote, I always felt that when you made a decision, you made it in the best interest of Crossville. You’ll both be very much missed, you all have done amazing things in you all’s tenure and some major major accomplishments that you all should be proud of. And I just thank you for your service. It’s not easy being in this position, you sure as heck don’t do it for the money, and I appreciate both of you.”
“It’s gone by too fast, said Rob Harrison, “It’s been a pleasure working with our staff and council, and I wish Crossville all the best going forward.”
“It’s amazing how fast eight years can go by,” said Scot Shanks. “I feel like things are in good hands. I appreciate R.J. and all he’s done and Mayor Mayberry. It’s been a pleasure.”
