HAY BARN FIRE ON BLAYLOCK ROAD

Last night, at around 8 p.m., a hay barn on Blaylock Rd. unexpectedly caught fire. Cumberland County Firefighters arrived on the scene, but despite spending over two hours on the scene, they were unable to put out the blaze.
Over 350 hay bales erupted in flames, and the temperatures were so hot that tractors couldn’t get close enough to separate the hay to allow firefighters to put it out.
One firefighter said there “wasn’t enough water in Cumberland County to put that fire out.”
No heat sources or electricity were going to the building and the season is far from dry, so the cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.
