Officials say Lenoir City High School’s head football coach has been suspended as a criminal investigation continues involving two juveniles. School officials say Coach Jeff Cortez has been placed on a short suspension for neglect of duties. Cortez is expected to return to work on Monday, October 30, 2017. Offensive coordinator Matt Coe will coach the team for the regular season finale tonight (Friday, October 27, 2017) at Catholic High School. Few details have been released regarding the investigation that took place on school campus because of the age of the juveniles.
