HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

High school football cancellations hit an all-time high in Week 2 last night with at least 30 games called off across the state of Tennessee because of COVID-19 concerns. There were a lot of good games played and here is your scoreboard from Friday night action.

Monterey defeated the Cumberland County Jets 21 to 7, the Jets are now one and one on the season. Stone Memorial rolled over East Ridge 47-21. Kingston shut out Oliver Springs 34 to 0. In a thriller Sweetwater defeated Rockwood 36-35 in overtime. Cleveland defeated McMinn County 21 to 17. Loudon rolled over Lenoir City 43 to 7. Coalfield beat Scott 35 to 7. Oakdale rolled over Jellico 49 to 19

The Tennessee Vols begin their season Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Neyland Stadium as they host Bowling Green.
