HIGH SPEED CHASE STARTING IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY ENDS IN PICKETT COUNTY

A high speed pursuit starting in Cumberland County ended in Pickett County with an arrest. The Tennessee Highway Patrol attempted to pull over a vehicle operated by 26-year-old Al-Hakeem Ameer Garrison of St. Louis on I-40 in Cumberland County when the chase started. The pursuit went into Putnam County reaching speeds of up to 120 miles per hour. Garrison then got off the interstate onto Highway 111 and led authorities into Overton County and eventually into Pickett County where the chase ended near the Tennessee/Kentucky border. Garrison was taken to jail where he faces several charges.
