HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT ENDS IN CUMBERLAND CO. WITH TWO ARRESTS
A high-speed pursuit that started in Monterey on I-40 ended last night in Cumberland County. Officers came in contact with 29-year-old Perry A. Parker allegedly in a stolen vehicle near mile marker 300. Parker took off reaching speeds of up to 120 miles per hour forcing some vehicles off the interstate. Authorities deployed spike strips near the 321 mile marker in Cumberland County to end the chase. Parker fled the scene on foot but was confronted and held at gunpoint by a property owner until officers could arrive. Parker was charged with theft of property, reckless driving, and evading arrest. A passenger in the stolen vehicle, 36-year-old Jamie Miller, was charged with theft of property. Parker and Miller were taken to the Putnam County jail.
