HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT ENDS WITH AN ARREST IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Cumberland County deputies came upon a vehicle traveling on Highway 70 North late last night passing another in a no passing zone. The report indicates the driver, 44-year-old Billy Shane Wyatt of Crossville sped up to 85 in a 45 mph zone. A chase ensued that involved Mayland Road and ended on Diamond Drive when Wyatt stopped in a driveway. Wyatt reportedly got out and ran into a wooded area where officers caught him. A consent search of the vehicle allegedly revealed meth. Wyatt was arrested and taken to the Cumberland County jail.
