HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY ENDS WITH ARREST
A high-speed pursuit in Crossville Sunday ended with an arrest. Police observed a vehicle operated by 32-year-old Jordan Levi Jacques of Crossville allegedly traveling on Peavine Road at a high rate of speed. The chase went onto Highway 70 East reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The pursuit went into Ozone with speeds dropping then picked back up towards the Roane County line. The chase ended near Rockwood when a spike strip deployed by officers took out one of the tires on the suspect’s car. A loaded firearm was reportedly found in the vehicle. Jacques reportedly told officers he did not stop because he was afraid people were following him to hurt him. He was charged with evading arrest and taken to the Cumberland County jail.
