HIGHWAY 68 COLLISION LEADS TO DUI CHARGES AFTER STOP SIGN VIOLATION
A Friday night traffic crash on State Route 68 resulted in multiple charges for a 52-year-old Tennessee driver, according to local emergency reports.
The incident took place on September 18, 2026, at approximately 8:50 p.m. near the 900 block of Highway 68.
Authorities stated that Jonathan Richey, 52, was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry northbound on Sawmill Road. Richey reportedly failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign, driving out onto State Route 68 and striking a 1999 Ford F-350 traveling eastbound.

The Impact: The collision caused the Ford F-350, driven by 29-year-old Trenton Davis, to rotate clockwise before coming to rest facing southwest in the middle of State Route 68. Vehicle 1 came to a stop shortly after the point of impact.

Injuries: Miraculously, both drivers escaped the crash without injury, and both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.

Charges: While Davis faces no charges, Richey was booked on multiple counts, including Driving Under the Influence (DUI), implied consent violations, simple possession, failure to exercise due care, and financial responsibility violations.
