The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation at a home on Cedarbreeze Road in Halls that may be connected to a child abuse case in Roane County. The property assessor’s office in Knoxville confirms the home belongs to Michael Anthony Gray, Jr. He is the son of Michael Gray, Sr. who along with his wife Shirley Gray faces several child abuse charges and one count of abuse of a corpse. Authorities would not give further details. Knox County officers appeared to be digging in places in the yard and removing items from the home once owned by Michael Gray Sr.  Neighbors said they observed officials place something in the back of the coroner’s vehicle.
